What a year!!!!

Well, here it is......the last week of Pre-Primary. What an amazing year we've had and it is so awesome looking at how far the students have come!! We are so proud!!! A few final reminders..... 1.  Please ensure that all  absentee notes  have been filled in and returned ASAP. 2.  Please  check at home for home readers  and library books.   3.  The OLC  Awards night  is on Tuesday night at 5.30pm.   This is compulsory .  Your child needs to be lined up in their class group outside of the hall on the lawn by 5.20pm.  The children are to wear Christmas themed clothing.  They may be biblical characters if they wish.  Please keep younger siblings with you at your seat.    Pre Primary children do not receive formal awards but will each receive a small book after the award ceremony.  4.  If your child wishes to hand out cards and candy canes then this is to be done at the end of the day.  Candy canes are to be taken home so that parents can monitor their child's sugar intake.

PPL Around the world

Dear Parents, Here as some pictures of our busy days in Pre Primary. We have learnt about Japan, Italy, France and Africa. We have collaged kimonos, counted to ten in Japanese, designed new and improved Eiffle towers, cooked pizzas, made necklaces and lion masks! We have had Dr Dan the Dentist vist, played on the new nature playground and dressed up for Book Week. What a busy term already! We will be creating Christmas craft this week and can't wait to show you our masterpieces! We hope you enjoy our pictures, Mrs Martin & Mrs Leahy

Chinese Restaurant Visit

Today both Pre Primary classes visited the Dunsborough Chinese Restaurant to complement our learning about Asia. The children travelled by bus and were treated to a magnificent feast including fried rice, spring rolls, honey chicken and prawn crackers. For many children it was their first visit to the Chinese restaurant and they had so much fun learning how to eat with chop sticks. Joan and her staff were very impressed with the delightful manners and table etiquette shown by our Pre Primary children. Here are some pictures from the day! Well done to all of the Pre Primaries, you made us very proud! Mrs Martin, Mrs Leahy, Mrs Peacock, Mrs Derickx and Ms Kent

week 4 already!

Oh my goodness it's week 4 already! Here are a few snapshots of how busy we have been in PPL! We have loved learning about Australia and especially loved making, cooking and eating damper! For the next two weeks we will be discovering Asia and on Wednseday heading to our local Chinese restaurant for lunch with PPB! A note was sent home regarding this exciting excursion on Friday after our assembly. Please ask for a copy if you didn't receive one. We hope you all enjoyed seeing us on stage! Have a lovely week ahead! Mrs Martin & Mrs Leahy

Final term of Pre Primary!!!!

Welcome back to Term 4. It's hard to believe we are in the final term of the year and our wonderful kids will be moving on to Year 1!!!! Well done to the pre primaries for their super effort in the sports carnival!! Everyone tried really hard in their events and also enjoyed cheering the rest of the school on. It was a really nice way to start term 4 as well as being glorious weather. Just a few reminders for this term: Gathering time writing will continue with the children having the same days as last term. On their non-writing day this will be their gathering time reading day. The children are required to sit with their parent and read their home reader before putting their folder in the box. Parents please record that they have read to you that morning on their reading folder log. Please also be willing to listen to another child read if their parent is not there. Once they have completed their writing or reading they may then go and do an activity at a table or on the flo

Fruit tray, Sports Day, Learning in PPL

Farewell to the shared fruit tray! To aid in the children’s transition to Year One we will not be having a shared fruit tray in Term 4.  We ask all parents to pack a morning tea for their children.  This morning tea should be fruit based with something extra for those children who require a little more. It is easier for the children (and us) if the morning tea is packed in a separate lunch box.  If fruit requires peeling  and is difficult to peel, then please do this at home for your child. Many thanks, Pre-Primary Teachers ...................................................................................................................................................................... Just a little reminder that due to poor weather conditions Sports Day was cancelled last term and has been re-scheduled for the first day of Term 4, Tuesday 11th October. The Pre Primary children will be participating in a running race and a few relays (beginning at 9am) so please com

Going back in time

What a wonderful day we had on 'Olden days' Wednesday. All of the Pre-Primaries participated in various 'olden day' activities. There was sewing, dancing, long rope skipping, cooking, playing knuckle bones, rolling hoola hoops, story telling and writing on black boards. The students looked the part in their amazing 'olden days' outfits as well. Thank you for your amazing effort parents. Thank you also to the awesome parent helpers. Without you the day wouldn't have been such an amazing success!!! Have a look at the day in action....
