Week 8 Term 4

Hi Parents, A few final reminders.... Library Books/Reading Books/ PLD packs.  This is the last week that our home reading books will be sent home. The children will not be bringing home a library book or PLD comprehension book. Please check your home and car to ensure that you have returned any books that may be at home. Please bring reading folders in this Friday so we can return all readers. Your child's reading folder will be used in Year One so once we have finished our home reading you may keep it at home ready for next year. Lost Property There is a large container of lost property near the reception area.  It pays to have a look in that container as you may not have realised that you are missing something! Carry Bag Please send in a strong shopping style carry bag with your child's name on it before Friday this week.  We will pack all of their books into this bag ready to go home next week.  PPL Prayer Assembly This Thursday it is International Day of People with Disab

Hi Parents, A few notes.... PPL Prayer Assembly On Thursday 3rd December our class will lead the school in celebrating International Day of People with Disabilities. We have been learning what disabilities are/what does it mean and that we need to ....   Challenge the way you think about disability, and see the ability in disability. We had a special visitor Brielle into our classroom who has a hearing impairment and she taught us the OLC School Prayer in Auslan (Australian Sign Language). We will show this to the whole school at our assembly. It will also be videoed so that you can watch it and see how clever we are. Early Childhood Excursion On Friday 4th December the Early childhood classes will be attending an excursion together. More information will be provided shortly. Vinnies Chrsitmas Hamper Appeal Each year at OLC we take time to be thankful for our blessings and to assist those in need by contributing to Christmas  Hamper s distributed by the St. Vincent De Paul Society. Week 5 Term 4

Hi everyone, Have you heard about our classroom mystery?  The children were kept on their toes with a visit from the mysterious creature who has been leaving clues after sneaking into the classroom while we have been out playing. So far it has left paw prints, pieces of fur and now sticky marks on our table tops.  The shapes looked a bit like paw prints.  They were sticky and smelt of honey.  Mmmmm  ... What could have done this?    R eminders! - practise you tricky words - writing and reading!! Although we practise them every day at school  parents please assist your children to read and write these words during the week. The children will not receive new words unless they prove to us that they can read and write the list that they have been given. These Tricky Words are the words that they will need to write again and again at school.  InitiaLit work books Each week we have been working through our InitiaLit program. To supplement what we are learning we also work through a booklet
