Week 2 Term 3

Hi Everyone, English HOME READING  The children were very excited to take home their first readers today.  Unfortunately we can't send home a book if your child doesn't have a folder. Listed below are some important notes to make home reading run smoothly. 1.  Readers are exchanged on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Please ensure that your child's reading folder is at school on these days. The idea being that the children read the book twice to an adult. The second reading should allow them to read with increased confidence.  2.  Parents must record their reading sessions in the journal that is located inside the reading folder. If this is not filled in we will take it that your child has not read the book and will need to have it again.  3. For many children the task of reading is laborious and tricky.  We have endeavoured to provide decodable readers that are achievable for your child.  Please make sure that all feedback you give your child is positive and encouraging.

Term 3 Week 1

Hi Everyone, Wow, I can't believe those holidays went so fast!!! Hopefully you were able to get away or do something fun with family and friends. My children and I went down to my cousins farm in Jerramungup for a few days with a few of the cousins. It was very cold but very fun and interesting. My kids collected a lot of interesting things that 'just had to' come back with us!! But here we are, back into the school term. Term 3 is usually a very busy one and I think it will be even busier due to all of the extras that have been added. There is no parent roster at the moment. We are still working out whether this is allowed or not. Once we know we will let you know. Please remember how amazingly independent our kids became last term and lets keep that going this term. A quick kiss and goodbye seems to be working wonders!!! FYI: I am attending camp on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week with the Year 5's and 6's so I won't be in class until Thursday
