Week 4

Happy Monday everyone in PPL!! I hope you all enjoyed the weekend and the weather. This coming weekend is a long weekend so remember not to come to school.......I definitely won't be here!! Class Reps A big thank you to Niki Butterly and Nat Whitley for nominating themselves to be PPL's class reps!!! English In our literacy time this week we are looking at the letters h, e and r. Today we made 'hairy headbands' by adding curls to a headband.  Maths During maths we have been representing numbers in different ways. Today's number was 7. On Friday's we have been looking at length and measuring things using various objects. We measured some of our friends to see who was longer/using blocks. Our quiet Friday gathering time is a lovely way to end the week. It's wonderful to see the kids snuggling in to listen to a story. Thank you for supporting this. Gathering time Just a reminder that the children need to practi

Week 3 snippets of information

Hi to all PPL parents, Parent Information Night Just a reminder that the parent information night for all classes is tomorrow night. The PP session begins in the hall at 5pm and will then move over to our classroom for Pre Primary specific information. I will share all the information on our class blog as well, so if you are unable to attend you won't miss anything. English This term we will be focusing on learning the letters of the alphabet: what they look like, what they sound like and how to write them. We will look at 3 focus letters a week and will also begin trying to put these sounds together to form small CVC words. It is important that each letter is correctly pronounced. The following video gives you an example of how to say the sounds.  Last week we learnt the letters s, a, and t. This week our focus letters are: p, i, and n.  It is also important to model the correct formation of the letter when writing. You will receive a handout showing how to form each

Nearly finished week 1!!

What an amazing start to Pre primary your children have made!!! Mel and I are so impressed with how they have taken everything in their stride. You should be very proud of their fabulous effort this week. It is not only physically exhausting but mentally too and they have all shown such amazing resilience. Well done to everyone!! Gathering Time It has been wonderful seeing all of the parents in for gathering time this week. Please keep in mind that this time in our room is very busy and noisy so once your child is in the room and settled, feel free to leave. You don't have to stay until we start the day. Sometimes lingering in the classroom for too long causes some tears that otherwise wouldn't have happened. Gathering Time Friday's On Friday's during our morning gathering time we will be slowing the pace right down. It will be our 'Relax and Read' morning where instead of having games and learning centres open, the room will be set up with books and pillo
