Week 10 Term 2

 D ear Parents, Last week was an interesting one... I ended up unwell followed by my own kids which meant a week at home. I think we are all ok now but I did hear there were a lot of our class at home unwell too. I hope everyone is on the mend so you are all well for the holidays. PJ Day On Thursday this week we will have a Pyjama Day as it is time we had a little extra fun and reward for all the hard work the children have been doing.  Your child is able to wear their PJ's to school for the day. It would be a good idea if they wore their normal school shoes in case the weather is suitable to play outside. Please also send in their favourite book for sharing as in English we will have a 'read in' and then share our thoughts on our chosen books. Please make sure that all books have their name on them.  Later in the day we will watch a movie, share some popcorn and have a well earned rest.  Reminders: * Send in a reading folder if you haven't already. Week 7 Term 2

Dear Parents and Carers, I hope you had a lovely extra long weekend. I've managed to catch up with family and had a bit of forced down time. The weather has kept us pretty quiet. Please read on so you know what we are currently up to..... Literacy Last week we began our writing in gathering time. As I have previously mentioned, each student is allocated 2 mornings a week where they will experiment with writing. We encourage any writing attempt and will be available to help. We would like to see the students begin to use their letter/sound knowledge in their writing attempts along with their new 'tricky word' knowledge. It has been so exciting to see some of the students discovering some tricky words in the books they are looking at. If they are doing this at home, encourage them to write each tricky word they find and to read them back to you as often as possible. If your child can automatically recognise tricky words, this will make their reading experience a lot easier an
