Week 9 Term 4....we made it!!

Parents and carers, Thank you so much for such an amazing year!! Rachel and I have thoroughly enjoyed spending this year with your children. They are such a beautiful bunch!!...and are backed up by amazing parents! We will be very sad to see them go. Thanks for being very patient with my time off to have knee surgery. It is always tricky for kids when a new teacher is in charge but they did very well.  Water Fun Day Please don't forget to send your child to school in their bathers tomorrow and to lather them in sunscreen yourself to ensure good coverage. The teachers will top up sunscreen during the day.  They will need a dry set of uniform/clothes packed to change into after the water activities before they watch a special G rated movie and share some popcorn. Colour Run A note was sent home about the  Colour Run  that will be held on the school oval at 2pm this Friday. Your child will need a white/light coloured t-shirt (old one) to wear for the event. If you  do not  want your c

Julie and I are working very carefully on drafting class lists for 2024...our goal is group the students and place them in a learning environment that best accommodates their learning needs.  This is an incredibly complex task and our goal is to ensure that your child is best placed for their lea

Week 4 Term 4

Dear Parents,  A huge thank you for the amazing teacher love!! World Teachers Day felt very much like my birthday!!  I love teaching all of your beautiful children and I appreciate their amazing parents!!! The P&F put on a lovely morning tea for all of the teachers and this too was greatly appreciated.  Spot it. Read it. Write It - Tricky Words The morning Spot it, read it, write programme is proving to be very effective,  popular... and noisy.....  In order to curb the noise we are encouraging parents to let their children do this independently now that they know what they are doing.   Well done to those parents who are now dropping and kissing.  You are helping your children to build resilience and setting your children up for success next year.  Don't forget to keep practising those pesky Tricky Words at home too.  Grandparents Day We would love the children to bring in their grandparents on this Friday for Grandparents Day.  There will be an assembly in the hall at 9am fo

Week 2 Term 3

Dear Parents, Well here we go! Term Four.   I hope that you have all had happy and restful holidays.  My kids and I went to Shark Bay for the first week with my mum and dad. It was great to get out of Dunsborough and was a fun road trip. Not sure my Dad will choose to sit in the back with the kids ever again though!!! We welcome Fraya and her family to PPB this term. There will be a strong emphasis on reading and writing this term in order to prepare your children for the rigour of Year One.  Some ways that you can support your child with their learning are: Listen to your child read EVERY night. Complete the homework reading sheets that are sent home each week.  Practise 'Tricky Words'.  Read them. Write them.  If your child is reversing letters and numerals then model the correct formation for them. Use the printing chart we sent home earlier this year.   Follow up on recommendations from any speech or OT reports. Don't forget to share any further reports you get with me

In order to enjoy this session and not be too overcrowded in the classroom we would like some parents to come between 3.15pm and 3. 45pm  and then a second group from 3.45pm to  4.15pm.  Please add your name to the list on the wall at the entry to the
