Week 6

Good morning and welcome to Week 6! Thursday is SCHOOL PHOTO DAY. Please see the newsletter from Friday for the schedule.  Ensure you have photo orders in asap. This week sees our Integrated study classrooms swap – this means the students who were in with Mrs Leahy for Science activities each week will now be in with Mrs Nottle with topics in Humanities covered and vice versa.  Book Week – Dress up Thursday 30 th  August This years theme is ‘Find your Treasure’, we will have some learning stations throughout the classroom next week to celebrate this, including gold panning. This sensory activity also links with our olden days topic in Humanities and Pioneer Village. Dress up for the day next Thursday is to be centred around a special book if possible. We also have an author DC Green visiting the school this day. Parents are welcome to stay for this incursion. Details in the newsletter. Mission Market, Home reading and Sight words

Thank you for remembering to bring in home reading folders each day. We will change the books on a Tuesday and Thursday if we can see that the book has been read. Please help your child to remember to place their folder in the container in the classroom each morning. If it's not there we won't be able to change their book. Just a reminder that Julie Birch and I are happy to run a Home Reading Information session with any parents interested in how it all works. So please let us know ASAP. Here is a video discussing the importance of the types of readers we send home and why we ask that the book is read at least twice before it is changes. It is worth a look!! Sight words Everyone now has some sight words to practice at home. Each fortnight the children will be tested on their ability to read and spell their words. If they have success they will receive a new set of words to practise. Sometimes they will receive a new set and may have one or two from the previous set to
