Sports carnival, Olden Days day, Outdoor Classroom Day

Sports Carnival
Just a reminder that the OLC Sports Carnival is tomorrow. The PP's can wear their coloured faction top and either their tracksuit pants or shorts - whatever they are comfortable in.

Olden Days Day
Earlier this term we told you that we were to have an Olden Days Dress Up Day at the end of this term.  It will next Wednesday the 20th of September.
Please dress your child in a costume from 'yesteryear'.  The costume can be from any era.
As you dress your child please talk to them about what they are wearing so that they can share this information with their classmates.
eg.  Braces are for holding up your 'trousers'.  Caps are for keeping your head warm.  Bonnets are for keeping the sun off your head and face.  Girls wore lace up boots to keep their feet dry in the olden days.  Ladies wore gloves to protect their skin from the sun...or to look elegant.
Ladies put their long hair up in buns as that was the fashion.  Ladies wore long skirts as some people thought it was a bit rude to show off your legs.  etc  etc.
We will need three parent helpers on the day to man learning stations.  Please see me if you can help.
If you have anything from 'the olden days' that we could display on an Olden Days interest table we would love to see them next week.
Morning Tea and Lunch are to be packed as per normal.

Outdoor Classroom Day
Last Thursday we thoroughly enjoyed Outdoor Classroom Day. We had a huge range of activities for them to engage in and they were able to choose which activity they wanted to do. The children were so settled, engaged and happy all day!! It was such a positive and amazing experience for everyone.

Week 2 Term 3

Dear Parents, Well here we go! Term Four.   I hope that you have all had happy and restful holidays.  My kids and I went to Shark Bay for the first week with my mum and dad. It was great to get out of Dunsborough and was a fun road trip. Not sure my Dad will choose to sit in the back with the kids ever again though!!! We welcome Fraya and her family to PPB this term. There will be a strong emphasis on reading and writing this term in order to prepare your children for the rigour of Year One.  Some ways that you can support your child with their learning are: Listen to your child read EVERY night. Complete the homework reading sheets that are sent home each week.  Practise 'Tricky Words'.  Read them. Write them.  If your child is reversing letters and numerals then model the correct formation for them. Use the printing chart we sent home earlier this year.   Follow up on recommendations from any speech or OT reports. Don't forget to share any further reports you get with me

Welcome to PPT 2024

Dear Parents,  On behalf of the Pre Primary Turner teaching team I would like to extend a warm welcome to the PPT Teal students and families of 2024! The beginning of a new year is always exciting, not only for the students but for the teachers too.  Pre Primary, also known as the Foundation Year, is a very important year in your child's educational journey.   This year they will learn the essential early skills of reading and writing. They will also be introduced to and learn to recognise and understand our base ten counting system. Learning will also include music, dance, HASS, Technology, Science, Kimochis and our Keeping Safe programme. Our first term focuses on learning routines, expected behaviours and getting used to our learning and play spaces. As with last year, both PP classes are sharing a learning space while our new classrooms are being created and will be working closely throughout the year.   It can be a little noisy with 2 classes in the one space so plea

Week 6 Term 4

Dear Parents,  Preparation for Year 1 In order to prepare the children for Year 1 we would like parents to allow your child to become more independent in their school day. We ask that you begin these things this week until the end of term: allow your child to place their own water bottle and reading folders in the correct places allow them to find and complete their own Tricky Word find booklet allow them to carry their own bag to and from the classroom kiss and drop at the door (this will also decrease the noise level in the mornings and allow your child to complete the tricky words independently) A reminder of the Dance concert this Friday:  Junior Primary Dance Concert Details: When: Friday, 17th November (Week 6) Time: 2.00pm start (roughly a 45-minute show) Where: Hall The theme for the show is Animals! Please go as minimal or as extravagant as you like! COSTUME REQUIRMENTS **PLEASE NOTE STUDENTS WILL ONLY NEED TO BRING THEIR COSTUME TO SCHOOL ON FRIDAY 17 TH  NOVEMBER** -PPL-
